If you’ve started looking for a new kitchen, you may be wondering why there’s such a difference in prices. A particular style of kitchen in one showroom is very much the same as in another, isn’t it? Well, no. With a kitchen, you get what you pay for.

A cheap kitchen may look superficially like a more expensive one but the construction and attention to detail is bound to be inferior. It’s the small features that make a kitchen unique and its quality is in the manufacturing.

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying ‘buy cheap, buy twice’…is your new kitchen really where you want to see how true this quote is? Your kitchen needs to last for years and, perhaps more importantly, still look as good as the day it was fitted many years down the line.

In the blog below, we have put together 7 reasons why buying a quality German Kitchen will give you and our designer more scope to create a kitchen that perfectly suits your needs and why it will be an investment that you won’t regret.

1. Size Really Does Matter

So, you want a new kitchen but what if your house hasn’t got ‘average’ height ceilings or more importantly what if you’re not ‘average’ height? Most kitchen companies have standard cabinet and plinth heights, and if that doesn’t suit you, the only option is custom-made. Schüller is different…they have two heights of base unit and two heights of plinth…as standard. This means you have 4 options to make your kitchen tops the perfect height to suit you and your home. For example, if you live in an older property and the ceilings are low (or if you’re vertically challenged) you could opt to have the lower-level cabinet on the shallower plinth. It’s like having custom-made kitchen furniture, but at no extra cost.

2. As Unique as You Are

To give you and our designer more freedom when planning your kitchen layout, Schüller offer 5 different heights of wall unit and 4 choices in the depth of your base and tall units…all as standard…no need for custom-made here either. This means your kitchen design will be tailor-made to you and your family’s needs without compromise on style and functionality.

3. We’re Not Being Shallow

Do you find it annoying that you can’t fit a dinner plate into your wall units? They usually live the corner cupboard, because it’s the only place that they’ll fit, but it might not be where you really want them. Well, Schüller wall units are just that little bit deeper than most, so dinner plates are no problem…even a pizza plate will fit in them comfortably. Another little detail that means Schüller allow you to have your kitchen, your way.

4. You Do The Maths

Schüller offer a huge choice of colours and materials for your kitchen fronts. Their lacquered door fronts are manufactured to an extremely high (typically German) standard, using complex ultra-modern processes. As well as the glass-fronted, veneered and solid wood doors, there’s a choice of 4 different lacquer finishes. The Satin Lacquer door alone comes in 23 different colours with 7 different styles of doors to choose from, so that’s…7 multiplied by 23…which equals…well, a lot of choice!!

5. Get a Grip!

Handleless kitchens are typical of German design as they give a sleek, modern look to your room. Schüller use grip ledges for their handleless kitchens (a C-Shaped strip fixed to the underside of the worktop) instead of the J-Profile system that most British kitchen firms use (where the top of the door is J-shaped). This enables any Schüller slab door to be made handleless. The grip ledges come in 11 different colours, so can blend in with your choice of door. Alternatively, you can make a feature of them by using the stainless-steel ones or installing an LED strip so that they’re illuminated.

6. A Place for Everything and Everything in its Place

If you’re a stickler for organisation (or long to be that person) Schüller have storage solutions to bring order to your life (well, to your kitchen at least!)

From anti-slip mats, spice inserts and waste bin pull-outs for your drawers to easy-reach pull down shelves and door organisation modules for inside the cupboard door fronts, there’s plenty of ways to keep everything in its place.

7. It’s the Little Things That Make a Big Difference

Schüller have a plethora of clever little touches to make your life easier and your kitchen better…

  • There’s a height adjustable metal foot attached to the underside of the base units to prevent them tipping.
  • Dishwashers can be fitted in a raised position, allowing easy loading and unloading.
  • The special way the tall appliance units are constructed allow air to circulate to the back which cools the rear of the appliance.
  • A sound system can be hidden behind the rear panel of a unit, the plinth or under the worktop allowing you to play music from your phone or tablet via Bluetooth.

Just a few of the many ways that a Schüller Kitchen simply offers you more for your money and is just…well…better.

These 7 points highlight the innovative way that Schüller manufacture their kitchens with quality and versatility at the forefront of their designs.
